hey, it’s me
“‘the time has come’, the Walrus said,
‘to talk of many things…’”
And so I decided that it was time for the online world to deal with yet another techno-geek babbling on about life, travel and the information superhighway (it really does show the average person what some nerd thinks about Star Trek).
It’s quite disconcerting actually – I had all these thoughts, but as soon as I sat down and placed my hands on the keyboard all the life-changing information that I had wanted to share with the online community shot straight out of my head.
I can’t even share with you what I had for breakfast this morning, because I really don’t remember.
So, instead I’ll give you an idea about what I’d like to use this blog for.
This blog is my alternative to writing numerous emails where I always leave someone off the list – never on purpose, mind you – and gives you all the chance to see my smaller updates, the things that don’t really deserve a massive diary entry but are still nice to know (like the nicest coffee I’ve had in London or my latest encounter with the strange lady in the kebab shop, who liked looking at her reflection just a little too much).
It’s a chance for me to explore writing as well. Once upon a teenager time I had imagined myself as an author and while I think teenage ‘angst’ pieces are so last week, blogging presents a nice alternative to all those notepads that litter the bottom of my desk drawers back in Australia.
So to my beautiful family and friends – perhaps this will encourage me to keep you all more up to date and assure you that I’m still alive and kicking somewhere in the world.
And to all of you who have just stumbled across the blog of a strange, loquacious techno-girl – thankyou for getting this far and I hope you come back to visit sometime.

This is such fun reading your blog darling I have passed it on to others
That’s good to hear, let lots of people know! Now, could I please have some comments from people that aren’t my mother
Pretty please?!? Love you Mum – PL
