london still
After quite a busy week – with basketball, netball and having a few drinks for a friend’s birthday with Dave – Matt and I headed off to Shepherds Bush on Saturday night.
While some of me would love to assure you that we weren’t going to hang out with a bunch of Australian, unfortunately this isn’t the case, although we did have more of a reason that this.
We went to see The Waifs in concert at Shepherds Bush Empire.
So yes, there were plenty of Australians, but there were quite a few serious not-Aussie fans as well.
And it was a great night. Even though it was raining and Shepherds Bush tube station is closed until October so we had to walk from the stop before, the supporting act – Emily Barker – was really good and when finally The Waifs came onto the stage, the crowd went wild.
I was amazed at the amount of people of all ages who knew the songs. The most exciting songs were the ones that we all did know like “Bridal Train” and “Lighthouse”, that got the people in their seats up and dancing and of course “London Still” made the crowd scream with excitement.
I’d forgotten how exciting a live band was; how the audience atmosphere rubs off on you, how the music makes you sway even when you thought that you weren’t in a dancing move and how you always end up buying a t-shirt that any other time you wouldn’t be caught dead in.
Bring on Glastonbury!!!

My favourite thing about you linking to my blog is the sponsored words that come up when it is hovered over – Swimming Pools, Mariah Carey, Lions, The View, Tigers and Iceland. Or as I like to call them, FIVE OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS.
